PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device suppressing the rise of a temperature, reducing power consumption and securing contrast in the center of a picture when the level of an input video signal becomes high. SOLUTION: The device is provided with an average video level calculating means calculating the average video level of the input video signal for every field, a coefficient generating means generating a multiplication coefficient in accordance with the position of the input video signal in one field when the average video level is high and a multiplication means multiplying the input video signal by the coefficient generated by the coefficient generating means. |
