PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy hard sheet having small anisotropy of strength, stable and low earing ratio and further excellent rivet formability and tearability as an Al-Mg-Mn based can peever material used for cans with internal pressure applied such as carbonated beverages and beer cans. SOLUTION: This sheet has a composition containing 3.5 to 5.0% Mg, 0.15 to 0.6% Mn, 0.02 to 0.20% Si, 0.01 to 0.20% Cu, <=0.40% Fe and <=0.03% Ti, and the balance substantially Al, and in the sheet cross-section, the number of intermetallic compounds with the maximum length of >=1μm is 1,000 to 3,250 pieces/mm2, and, as the texture in the part of 1/4 in the sheet thickness direction, the total of each orientation density in the Cu orientation, the S orientation and the Brass orientation belonging toβfiber is <=50 times that in the random orientation.
