PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector that prevents a coated optical fiber from being damaged at the time of assembling. SOLUTION: An optical connector for a double core type optical fiber cord 1 is structured by connecting the housing body that holds a ferrule 5 at the end of the coated optical fiber 2 with the cord receptacle 30 that holds the end of the covered part 3 of the optical fiber cord 1. The cord receptacle 30 is composed of a combination of a pair of cord receptacle divided parts 31A, 31B, each of which is formed with a coated optical fiber guide path forming recess 33A enabling the coated optical fiber 2 to be guided outward. The guide path forming recess 33A is formed with a pair of guide pins 34A for dividedly guiding a pair of coated optical fibers 2 nearly in a Y-shape, so that a holding piece which is provided for the connection between the housing body and the cord receptacle 30, is passed between the coated optical fibers 2 and that the holding piece is prevented from coming into contact with each of the coated optical fibers 2.
