PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly stabilized electrophotographic photoreceptor which ensures an increased processing speed and enhanced image quality, a process cartridge using the photoreceptor and an electrophotographic device. SOLUTION: A resin for forming a photosensitive layer is at least a polyarylate resin of formula (1) (where R1-R4 are each H, a 1-5C alkyl, aryl, a 1-5C alkoxy or halogen; X is a single bond or -CR5R6-, R5 and R6 are each H, a halogen, alkyl or aryl or R5 and R6 together form alkylidene; and (n) is the degree of polymerization). The resin is heat-treated at a temp. of >=120 deg.C before use in the production of a photoreceptor.
