PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a conductivity anisotropy to a charge transfer layer included in a photosensitive layer in an electrophotographic photoreceptor having the photosensitive layer on a conductive supporting body and to improve the resolution of the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: A discotic liquid crystal layer having conductivity anisotropy is dispersed and distributed like islands in a charge transfer material layer having no conductivity anisotropy to constitute the charge transfer layer.
