PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a on-vehicle car-carried terminal and a server which reduce the data transfer quantity and improve the safety or operability during running, in a communication type navigator. SOLUTION: For transferring the results of route search by a server, data conformed with a user-desired guiding method are transferred and compressed route data are transferred. Only the required attributes of map data are transferred. A map transfer method or a route guidance method considering running conditions and user-desired guiding means are selected for attaining the purpose.
