PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breather capable of restricting the intrusion of water from outside. SOLUTION: A breather 1 to be fitted to a case 10 is provided with a breather body 12 and a breather cover body 13. The breather body 12 is provided with plural disk-like flanges 23-26, and each flange 23-26 is formed with breather grooves 23a-26a cut in the radial direction at a different angle to each other between the flanges adjacent to each other. The breather cover body 13 is formed into a covered nearly cylindrical shape having the inner diameter nearly equal to the outer diameter of the flanges 23-26 of the breather body 12, and installed in the breather body 12. Inside and outside of the case 10 are communicated with each other through breather passages 31-34 formed between the breather grooves 23a-26a and the inner peripheral surface of the breather cover body 13.
