PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving circuit for a liquid crystal display device which reduces the power consumption of an adjusting means and is usable for the purpose of portable equipment without having its operation limited to alternating-current conversion at a particular frequency, and to provide a liquid crystal display device which uses it and electronic equipment which uses the liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The source signal voltage from a source driver is outputted to individual pixel electrodes by being switched by a TFT with the scanning signal from a gate driver. A reference voltage generating circuit 20 adjusts the potential differences between the pixel electrodes and a common electrode so as to correct the influence of variation in drain voltage due to the presence of the parasitic capacity of the TFT, variance in DC voltage due to asymmetry of characteristics between an active matrix substrate and a counter substrate, etc. A reference voltage generating circuit 20 is composed of a voltage level varying means which shifts the voltage level of the source signal voltage outputted from the source driver uniformly for the individual pixel electrodes.
