PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material which is superior in color developing properties, color reproducibility and the light fastness of a color image and to obtain a coupler. SOLUTION: The dye forming coupler is represented by formula (CP-I), wherein R1-R5 are the same or different and each H or a substituent; Z is a group of nonmetallic atoms required to form a cyclic structure together with C atoms at both ends, the group of nonmetallic atoms may be substituted by substituents; X is H or a substituent; and R6 is a heterocyclic group bonded by a C atom. The silver halide color photographic sensitive material contains at least one coupler of the formula (CP-I), in at least one layer on the base.
