PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rear projection type screen, with which projected image on a screen will not become dark, because the angle of visibility is made large and the projected image having superior contrast is viewed under bright light, even when an observer observes the rear projection type screen at a place has deviated from its center. SOLUTION: The rear projection type screen (10) is constituted of a front surface plate (20) facing to an observation side (A) and a back face light- diffusing means (30), provided along the back face of the front surface plate, so as to face to a picture projector (P) on the back side. Many fine projected lines (2), having a triangle cross section extended in parallel in a horizontal direction, are formed on the front surface of the front surface plate (20), and a light-shielding layer (3) is formed on the upper face of each fine projected line. A lenticular lens sheet (7), having many parallel lens projected lines (6) extended in a perpendicular direction and also projected on the side of the picture projector (P) through a light diffusing sheet, is provided on the back face of the front surface plate (20).
