PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine measurement control device and automatic speed change control method therefor capable of preventing a shift lever from being slipped from an intended shift position to prevent the engine rotating speed from exceeding an upper limit value. SOLUTION: In this engine measurement control device 3 for controlling the measurement of an engine 2 equipped with a transmission 13 for performing a gear change by a shift lever 12, the shift lever 12 is moved to the intended shift position to a shift lever actuator 7 for moving and fixing the shift lever 12 in a desired shift position to fully close a throttle 15 and also cut a clutch 17. Thereafter, the clutch 17 is connected again, and the throttle 15 is returned to continuously fix the shift lever 12 in the intended shift position until the connecting operation of the clutch is ended.
