The fine particles are mixed with a volatile agglomerant and the mixture is subjected to the action of a heat source; the agglomerant is evaporated and separated from the granules formed from the powder. The new granules are more soluble, allow of a more rapid rehydration and avoid certain viscous deposits. At the same time the degree of degradation caused by high temps. is reduced and no trace of any foreign substance remains; natural flavouring can also be added with the liq. agglomerate. The plant consists of a mixing cylinder with an endless screw press and die plate at its outlet. The mixture is distributed on a moving belt under heating panels in a closed vessel. The agglomerant is evaporated and recovered in a condenser. |
