PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improving qualities of an embroidery at a seaming part in an embroidery region. SOLUTION: This cap frame for an embroidery sewing machine is characterized in that a cap frame 1 for an embroidery sewing machine is equipped with a receiving frame 2 which is inserted into the inside of a cap part 62 of a cap 6 having a seaming part 71 thicker than other parts in the embroidery region and receives a peripheral part of the embroidery region 69 of the cap part 62 and with a press band 3 which is wound from the outside of the cap part 62 and nips the peripheral part between the press band and the receiving frame 2, the cap frame 1 is provided with a recessed part 18 for relieving extra thickness based on thickness of the other parts at the seaming part 71.
