PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmitting device having a motor allowing silencing and compacting and capable of exhibiting a mechanical safety function in an emergency. SOLUTION: This power transmitting device comprises a motor unit 2, a sun roller 31 as the power transmitting device, a plurality of planet rollers 32 rotatably supported by a carrier 35 and contacting with the outside of the sun roller 31, and a plant roller unit 30 for transmitting power by mutual rotation of a ring roller 33 of which inside contacts with the planetary rollers. A mounting flange 12 is formed integrally with the carrier 35 of the planetary roller unit 30, and is also used as a motor casing 61.
