PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power assisted bicycle capable of reconciling reducing weight and securing strength with enhancing appearance. SOLUTION: This power assisted bicycle 1 to add assist power in response to pedal stepping force acting on a drive shaft includes a first frame 3a extending backward from a handle shaft frame 16, a second frame 3b extending backward from the handle shaft frame while being lined up below the first frame, a third frame 3c to link the first frame to the second frame, and a cover housing 8 to cover a closed area 15 demarcated by the first, second and third frames. A driving unit 13 and a battery 20 are stored in the cover housing.
