PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing sebum of the skin surface. SOLUTION: This method comprises topically applying a composition comprising an alcohol, pyridoxine hydrochloride or a salt or a derivative thereof and a zinc salt to the skin. The composition is applied in an amount sufficient to reduce the sebum to the skin surface. Furthermore, a topical composition for reducing the sebum on the skin surface comprises the alcohol, pyridoxine hydrochloride or a salt or a derivative thereof and the zinc salt in an amount sufficient to reduce the amount of the sebum on the skin surface.
