PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car position adjusting device for an elevator facilitating the replacement work of a shoe metal and the position correction of an emergency stop device without needing large force for displacing a car. SOLUTION: This car position adjusting device 5 is provided with a fixing member 51 mountable to a part of a car 1 in the state of a threaded hole of an internal screw part 51c being opposed to a side face 3a of a guide rail 3, and a pressing member 52 having an external screw part 52a to be screwed to the internal screw part 51c. In the state of the tip part (an abutting part) 52c of the pressing member 52 abutting on the side face 3a of the guide rail 3, the external screw part 52a is screwed into the internal screw part 51c to displace the car 1 relative to the guide rail 3. The car 1 can thereby be easily displaced without applying large operating force to the pressing member 52.
