PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve production efficiency by improving the working efficiency in each step for molding powder and granular material. SOLUTION: This method for molding the powder and granular material comprises a flask assembling step for assembling a flask 12 by a plurality of separable split frame members 16, 16, 17 and 17 for the flask, a filling step for filling the powder and granular material into a powder and granular material filling space S inside the flask 12, and a molding step for molding the powder and granular material by pressing the powder and granular material by upper and lower dies 13 and 14 while pressing the flask 12 so as to prevent separation of the split frame members 16, 16, 17 and 17 for the flask in this order. In this flask assembling step, the flask 12 is assembled so as to surround the lower die 14, and the flask assembling step comprises an upper die fitting step for assembling a molding die by fitting the upper die 13 into an upper end opening part of the flask 12 and a carrying step for carrying the assembled molding die 11 from the position M of the upper die fitting step to the position K of the molding step after the filling step and before the molding step.
