PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping device capable of stopping vertical sliding and longitudinal movement for a square rail. SOLUTION: This clamping device, engaging and disengaging with/from a rail formed out of square metallic material, is provided with a pair of clamping members 3, 4 which straddle the rail from the above and face perpendicular right and left side surfaces. The clamping members have a triangular cross section and a prescribed length along the lengthwise direction of the rail at a surface facing the rail side surfaces, respectively. Clamping claws 8, 14 formed by cutting both lengthwise end surfaces to a roughly right-angled shape are disposed in the linear shape at a prescribed interval.
