PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert gradation so that the dark part and the bright part of an image can naturally be viewed. SOLUTION: The seven bits of the MSB side of input Di with ten bits are taken out, a correction value di obtained by inverting the bit is added to original Di and an output Do is obtained. The dark part which is difficult to be viewed by the characteristic of a liquid crystal display is raised to the bright part but the originally bright part is not raised. Consequently, the dark part and the bright part of the image can naturally be viewed.
