PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly pressurize a plurality of liquid crystal cells in a narrow and long strip to satisfactorily seal filling ports. SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal element, two substrates on which electrodes or the like are formed are stuck to each other with a sealant between them to form a plurality of cells as a single body, and they are cut into narrow and long strips, and then liquid crystal is filled and filling ports are sealed. In the port sealing stage, liquid crystal chambers of cells are individually pressurized to seal the filling ports.
