PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ascent and descent poll which can be automatically moved up and down without labour and an automatic ascent and descent poll system in relation to the ascent and descent poll which is provided with a cylindrical poll internally contained in a cylindrical container case and can be vertically moved up and down from/to the cylindrical container case. SOLUTION: A pressure change chamber 36 formed by the bottom 35 of a pole 3 and the inside wall of a container case 2, and a stream hole 21d connected to the pressure change chamber 36 are provided in the container case 2. The pressure change chamber 36 is pressurized by the inflow of a fluid from the stream hole 21d to drive up the pole 3 and the pole 3 is driven downward by decompressing the pressure change chamber 36 by suction of the fluid from the stream hole 21d.
