PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle speed change control method for a spinning machine, intended to raise productivity by decreasing yarn breakage cases for the whole machine frame in a simple operation when yarn breakage cases occur frequently. SOLUTION: This method comprises the following practice: the yarn breakage frequency for each spindle from starting operation of a machine frame to a full bobbin halt is added up; the frequency is added up for each interval differing in spindle drive control from starting operation of the machine frame to the full bobbin halt, and the resulting integrated value for each interval is compared with a preset acceptable value; for the interval where the integrated value is greater than the acceptable value, the rate of spindle rotation is lowered by a preset level in the next operation; wherein 'interval differing in spindle drive control' means an interval differing in the rate or acceleration rate of spindle rotation, namely, an interval differing in constant rate of rotation or acceleration condition.
