PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing roller for reducing wear and tear of an image carrier caused by the sliding contact of the developing roller to prolong the service life of the image carrier and to provide a developing device provided with the developing roller. SOLUTION: This developing roller has the outer peripheral surface coming into sliding contact with a photoreceptor belt 6 provided in a tensioned state to be travelable in the prescribed direction. The outer peripheral surface is divided into two mirror finished surface parts 32 which are arranged near both ends in the shaft direction so that a developer can not be held on the outer peripheral surface and a roughly finished surface part 33 which is arranged between the parts 32 for holding the developer on the outer peripheral surface. The parts 32 are alienated from the belt 6 so that one is not brought into sliding contact with the other by fitting a cylindrical part 34 to a rotary shaft 31. Thereby, the belt 6 can be prevented from being scraped away due to the sliding contact of the parts 32 with the belt 6 so that the service life of the belt 6 can be prolonged. |
