PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, capable of producing a filamentous textile structures from a staple fiber material, suitable for producing planar textile structure by a well-known method in a textile industry without carrying out other treatment and an apparatus for practicing the method for producing the filamentous textile structures. SOLUTION: In this method for producing filamentous textile structures from an endless fiber fleece (1) in which staple fibers are present in a loose fiber structure, the fiber fleece (1) is split up longitudinally into a plurality of slivers (3) and the originally loose fiber structure is bonded in such a way that the bonded slivers (3) can be processed into a planar textile structure, with the fiber structure being subjected to fluid-dynamic forces for the longitudinal splitting and/or for at least a part of the bonding of the fiber structure.
