PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a simple and inexpensive constitution of an image forming apparatus, by miniaturizing it and reducing the number of components, and to write an electrostatic latent image more stably. SOLUTION: The write electrode 3b of a write device 3 is supported by a flexible base material 3a having soft elasticity, and is brought in contact with a latent image carrier 2. An electrostatic latent image is written on the latent image carrier 2 which is made into a uniform electric charge state by a uniform electric charge controller 7 for a latent image carrier by charging or discharge by a write electrode 3b. This electrostatic latent image is developed by a developing device 4, and a developer image is transferred on a transfer material 5 such as paper by a transfer device 6. Because the base material 3a to support the write electrode 3b is a flexible base material having soft elasticity, the write electrode 3b comes in contact with or approaches stably the latent image carrier 2.
