摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque detector capable of correctly computing torque even when a detection signal from a detection means is not within a linear area. SOLUTION: In this torque detector, a plurality of targets are arranged in a rotating body so that a detected part is periodically and sequentially varied according to the rotation of the rotating body, while a first detection means detecting the detected part and a second detection means detecting the target part for outputting a detection signal, whose phase is different from that by the first detecting means by an electric angle of about 180 deg., are arranged individually in an output shaft and an output shaft connected together via a torsion bar, and on the basis of a difference due to the torsion of the torsion bar in the part detected by either of the detection means, torque applied to the input shaft is detected. Among the respective detection signals by the respective detection means, two detection signals within a predetermined range are selected (S28, 30, 32, 34), and when two detection signals by either of the first and second detection means are selected (S12), torque is detected on the basis of a difference between them (S10).
