PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber-reinforced styrene-based transparent resin composition having excellent transparency, color tone and the physical property balance between impact resistance and rigidity, and to provide an effective method for producing the composition. SOLUTION: This resin composition comprises a styrene-based copolymer reinforced with a rubbery polymer; wherein an acetone-soluble resin component in the composition has a monomer composition comprising (a1) 5-70 wt.% of an aromatic vinyl-based monomer, (a2) 30-95 wt.% of an unsaturated carboxylic alkyl ester monomer, (a3) 0-50 wt.% of a vinyl cyanide-based monomer and (a4) 0-50 wt.% of another monomer copolymerizable therewith, and has an acid value of 0.01-1 mgKOH/g.
