PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing seat to be applied for a shank penetrating the wall surface of an airtight apparatus. SOLUTION: The sealing seat comprises a first SUS seat, fixed to its wall surface, an O-ring attached to the first SUS seat, a second SUS seat mounted on the first SUS seat with the O-ring sandwiched in-between, a sealing member provided in the second SUS seat around the shank so that it can slide thereon to rotate, and a gas inlet provided on the second SUS seat for introducing an inert gas from outside and causing the same to jet out toward the neighborhood of the sealing member to cool the same.
