PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for ink jet printing having an improved color fastness and to provide a polymer for improving adhesive properties of an ink jet ink to a base by coating on a substrate. SOLUTION: The method for ink jet printing comprises the step of printing the ink on the substrate coating with a cationic water soluble polymer containing a first monomer, a second monomer and a third monomer. In this case, the first monomer is an N-vinylpyrrolidinone. The second monomer is selected from the group consisting of an N-methylolacrylamide, an N- methylolmethacrylamide, an N-isobutoxymethylacrylamide and their mixtures. The third monomer contains a fourth ammonium group therein. |
