PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece positioning device that can detect an anomaly quickly when a workpiece is positionally displaced with respect to a cutting machine and can prevent defective machining due to positional workpiece displacement. SOLUTION: The workpiece positioning device for holding a workpiece W on a feed path 1 to transfer and position it to and in a working machine comprises a moving body 2 for holding and transferring the workpiece W, a first position transducer 4 for positioning arranged on a drive means 23 for the moving body 2, and a second position transducer 5 for determining abnormality arranged separately from the first position transducer 4 to detect the movement position of the moving body 2. A difference between values detected by the first and second position transducers 4 and 5 not less than a set value determines defective positioning of the workpiece W.
