PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the fixing method by heat caulking requires many man-hours. SOLUTION: In the fixing device and a fixing method for a back cover of a wrist watch comprising at least a case 22 and a back cover 23 by heat caulking, a caulking unit is composed of at least a caulking shaft 11 for crushing a caulking boss 22a, a heater 17 for supplying heat to the caulking shaft 11, a back cover presser 1 for pressing the back cover 23, compression coil spring 7 set up with a force stronger than the repulsion of a packing 28 pressing the back cover presser 1, and a stopper 12 for limiting the transfer amount of the caulking unit and the back cover presser 17, so as to press the back cover 23 subjecting to the repulsion of the packing 28 without being tilted and heat caulk simultanously a plurality of caulking bosses 22a.
