PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellently a carburized layer in the inner wall of a center hole by more simple process in manufacturing a gear having a center hole through a forging process after carburization treatment. SOLUTION: In manufacturing the gear G having a center hole H, after applying carburization treatment to a solid-state blank B, a conical recesses 7, 8 are formed at the parts corresponding to both sides of the center hole of the blank B in a first forging process, the recesses 7, 8 on both sides are formed into the center holes 7H, 8H having inner burrs V between them in a second forging process, and thereafter, the inner burrs V of the center holes 7H, 8H are removed.
