PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platen ensuring a higher print quality by arranging ribs appropriately. SOLUTION: The platen 30 comprises ribs 31 for supporting a recording material from below and defining the distance (PG) to a recording head section, and ribs 32 arranged on the downstream side of the ribs 31 in the carrying direction. The ribs 31 and 32 are formed and arranged independently. The ribs 31 define the PG of the recording material being carried to reach below the recording head section and the ribs 32 make uniform the PG by absorbing cockling phenomenon of the recording material absorbing ink. Since the ribs 31 and 32 are formed independently, they are arranged at appropriate positions, respectively. |
