PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which the installation area is decreased without sacrifice of stability of the apparatus. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises a section 1 for containing recording media P not recorded with an image and a section 2 for containing recording media recorded with an image wherein the recording media P are contained substantially vertically to the installation plane of the apparatus. A section 3 for recording an image onto the recording media P carried from the containing section 1 is disposed to be clamped between the containing sections 1 and 2 at the lowermost part of a recording media carrying passage extending from the containing section 1 to the containing section 2.
