PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide biaxially coextruded transparent polyester film which has the same appearance as that of a metallized container lid to be attractive enough to excite interest in purchasing the high transparency/gloss value and further, can be applied to a mix pap system. SOLUTION: This biaxially oriented coextruded transparent polyester film is composed of at least one base layer made up of 80 wt.% or more of a thermoplastic polyester and at least two outer layers which are formed on both sides of the base layer, at least either of these outer layers containing particles, totaling three layers. In addition, the surface gloss value of the film is 170 or more and the haze of the film is less than 2.4%. In addition, the degree of plane orientationΔp of the film is less than 0.162 and the coefficient of friction of the film surface is less than 0.6.
