PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a groove machining device capable of efficiently finishing a groove with high accuracy by use of a lapping tape. SOLUTION: This groove machining device 10 for machining the groove 11 of a work W1 has a backup member 30 with a tip face 30a of a projecting shape according to a cross section of the groove 11, and the lapping tape 35 supplied between the groove 11 and the tip face 30a along the backup member 30. A press mechanism 42 presses the lapping tape 35 to the groove 11 together with the backup member 30. A reciprocation mechanism relatively moves the work W1 and the lapping tape 35 in the axial direction of the groove 11. When the reciprocation mechanism changes over its moving direction, the reciprocation mechanism changes a position of the tape end of the lapping tape 35 in the axial direction of the groove 11. |
