PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper having excellent fitting property around the waist and excellent rising property of three-dimensional gathers and capable of forming a large pocket for holding excrement to provide an excellent excrement leakage prevention performance. SOLUTION: In an underpants type absorbing article 1, elastic members 81, 9 arranged in a part D around the waist and a pair of leg opening parts 8 are arranged and fixed in sections more outside than at least both side fringes of an absorbing body 4, respectively, in a condition in which they are elongated and stretched to obtain elastic expansion and shrinkage properties and are not arranged in a condition in which elastic expansion and shrinkage properties are obtained in at least the central part of a section where the absorbing body 4 exists, and a fixed end 62 of each three-dimensional gathers 6 is positioned on the central side in the direction of width of the diaper 1 more than a section where the elastic member 81 arranged in each leg opening part 8 is arranged in a condition in which elastic expansion and shrinkage properties are obtained.
