PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot machine which can enhance attractions of game by accurately and effectively making an appeal with the possibility of holding conditions for shifting to a special game advantageous for players. SOLUTION: In the slot machine which is provided with a variable display means, a preliminary decision means and a display control means, when one game is ended by exhibiting the display result delivered from the variable display means while the preliminary decision means decides to allow the exhibiting of a special display pattern as predetermined, a shift can be made into a special game state advantageous for players responding to the exhibiting of the special display pattern offered as precondition. Thus, it can be controlled to announce whether a decision is made to allow the exhibiting of the predetermined special display pattern by the preliminary decision means in the play following the subsequent game with the condition that a specified display pattern as predetermined in a variable display region is exhibited in a specified game.
