PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a mutant protein inducing an attenuated immune response. SOLUTION: A method for selecting an amino acid to be modified in a protein in order to obtain a mutant protein inducing an attenuated immune response, and the mutant protein produced according to the above method, are provided. Compositions each containing the mutant, and applications of the compositions in especially detergents and pharmaceutical preparations, are also provided.
