PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a photocatalytic water purifier is enlarged in general in order to obtain the sufficient surface area of catalysts. SOLUTION: The photocatalyst which exhibits a cleaning/sterilization effect by being exposed to ultraviolet rays and light permeable balls made of quartz glass which allows the permeation of ultraviolet rays are mixed and housed in a catalyst chamber installed around an ultraviolet lamp, an outer cylinder the inside of which is polished to reflect the ultraviolet rays is installed on the outside of the catalyst chamber, the ultraviolet rays generated by the lamp installed on the inside of a purified water tank permeate part of a catalyst layer and are reflected by the outer cylinder to make many surfaces of the photocatalyst be exposed to the ultraviolet rays to accelerate a photochemical reaction. In this way, a high performance water purification effect is obtained by the small-size device.
