PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat mop which has excellent cleaning effect and water- absorbency, and does not damage the floor or the like. SOLUTION: A water-absorbing portion 3, which is obtained by sawing mop strings made of a natural fiber or a mixed fiber of a natural fiber and a synthetic fiber with the lower surface of a base cloth, is adjacent to a wiping-up portion 4, which is obtained by sawing mop strings mode of a micro-fiber with the lower surface of the base cloth. The wiping-up portion has a high cleaning effect and does not damage the floor or the like. Because the water-absorbing portion has excellent water-absorbency, it effectively absorbs up water on the floor or the like.
