PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core drive device, of a mold for an injection molding machine, which generates a hydraulic pressure by effectively using a drive force by a movable platen drive mechanism and supplies the hydraulic pressure to an insert cylinder and evacuates the hydraulic pressure so as to drive its piston rod forward/backward and further, make the structure small-sized to reduce the installation cost and the running cost of the injection molding machine. SOLUTION: The core drive device 10 comprises a cylinder pump 12 which generates a hydraulic pressure in its drive by the drive force when a fixed half and a movable half of the mold are clamped by driving a movable piston by the movable platen drive mechanism, the insert cylinder 13 for core drive assembled into the fixed half or the movable half and a hydraulic circuit 14 which supplies the hydraulic pressure generated by the cylinder pump 12 to the core cylinder 13 and drains the hydraulic pressure from the cylinder 13.
