PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuously casting molten steel for rail by which internal defect is restrained by applying electromagnetic stirring to the molten steel and the deterioration of qualities, such as hardness, strength, wear resistance, caused by the formation of white band can be prevented by adding an element having >=1 of a solid-liquid equilibrium partition coefficient thereto to cause positive segregation, and to provide a cast metal for rail manufactured by the method. SOLUTION: In the method for continuously casting the molten steel for rail, the element having >=1 of the solid-liquid equilibrium partition coefficient at the time of solidification of the molten steel 11 is added into the molten steel 11, and the molten steel 11 is poured into a mold 13, then the molten steel 11 is cast while applying the electromagnetic stirring.
