PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a longitudinal transporting device capable of smoothly carrying out operations of a mechanism for delivering grain culms in a longitudinal transporting device excellent in grain culm delivering performances. SOLUTION: This apparatus for transversely moving a reaping part 2 of a combine harvester is obtained by composing the reaping part 2 so as to freely slide and move in the transverse direction relatively to a traveling machine body 11, pivoting the longitudinal transporting device 9 so as to freely shake and move left and right around a fulcral shaft center Y of the transportation terminal end and so as to be shakable left and right synchronously with the transverse sliding movement of the reaping part 2, stretching a chain 47 with engaging claws around a front wheel unit 46, a rear wheel unit 45 and an intermediate wheel unit 53 of an ear tip engaging and transporting mechanism 9B, shaking and moving the intermediate wheel unit 53 in the direction to relax tensioning actions on the chain 47 interlocking with the transverse sliding movement to an intermediate divided state and composing the front wheel unit 46 so as to be operated in the direction to maintain the tensioning of the chain 47 while moving the front wheel unit 46 in the direction to approach a raising up device 5.
