PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and controllable compression machine for a dried sea weed, etc. SOLUTION: The machine is provided with a screw bar 2 and a guide bar 3, which are pierced through an upper frame 1b on a machine base 1 as formed to an U shape cantilever with open front part side face consisting of an upper frame 1b, a rear face 1b facing up/down and a base frame 1c, and a screw jack 4 to screw-drive the screw bar 2 while adjusting/advancing/retreating the screw bar 2 in the up/down direction, a pressing plate 5 is mounted to the screw bar 2 protruding to a rear face side of the upper frame 1b and to the lower end part of the guid bar 3, a section facing the pressing plate 5 in an up/down interval is made to a base part or a base plate is arranged to the section, a cylindrical cover 7 of bisected type is arranged so as to encircle the upper part of the base part.
