PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error detecting apparatus for a game machine making it possible to easily deal with changes in the connection between a machine unit and the game machine and those in the specifications of the game machine. SOLUTION: The output terminals of game machines 10a to 10d are connected to the input terminals of the machine unit 20a. The machine units 20a and 20b are stored in a management device 50 via an island unit 40a. A storage means stores; a game machine unit table which indicates the relationship between the input terminal of each of the machine units 20a and 20b and a game machine signal inputted to the input terminal; a plurality of error detecting conditions; selection information for selecting either of the error detecting conditions for use in detecting errors of each game machine; signal information showing the relationship between the signal included in the error detecting conditions and the signal of the game machine; and set thresholds included in the error detecting conditions. Based on this signal information, the management device 50 identifies the signal of the game machine which corresponds to the signal included in the error detecting conditions, and based on the game machine unit table, identifies the input terminal of the machine unit to which the signal of the game machine identified is inputted.
