PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stainless steel member especially useful as a car trim material, capable of putting the surface appearance of stainless steel, provided with a transparent and uniform resin coating and used as a substrate, to practical use, high in the adhesive force of the resin coating and the substrate stainless steel and capable of being easily manufactured by the reduced number of processes. SOLUTION: The transparent resin coated stainless steel member includes a stainless steel substrate and the transparent resin film applied to at least one surface of the substrate. The resin film consists of a transparent synthetic resin base material and the transparent heat-sensitive adhesive layer applied to the base material on the side of the stainless steel substrate and bonded to the stainless steel substrate through a silane coupling agent.
