PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thermal head capable of forming a partial glazed layer having a small radius of a curved surface by a simple method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the thermal head comprises a step of moving a nozzle filled with a paste of a heat insulating material on the part of a ceramic board in which a heating resistor is formed and forming a protrusion by coating with the paste, a step of forming the resistor on the protrusion, a step of forming individual electrode patterns contacted with the resistor, and a step of forming a protective layer on the board.
