PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cleaning water which can reduce a cost and labor for maintenance without leaving harmful substances in water and can obtain water of good quality without the adhesion of iron components on an apparatus. SOLUTION: An apparatus has a coil 2 for applying a low frequency alternating current magnetic flux to water to accelerate the ionization of a dissolved substance in the water to obtain magnetized water, a low frequency alternating current generator 16 for supplying a low frequency alternating current to the coil 2, electrodes 11 for applying a minus direct current high voltage to the water, and a high voltage generator 15 for supplying the minus direct current high voltage to the electrodes 11.
